Brrr! The weather outside may be terrible, but your skin doesn't have to be. There are a few things you can keep in mind to make sure your skin will survive the cold winter times. Keep on reading to find out how to banish dry skin and give your winter skin care regimen a boost.
With the freezing cold outside, our skin has a lot to endure. As soon as we turn the heat on indoors, the skin starts to dry out. But no heating at this time of the year is not an option. That's why it's best to change a few things in your beauty routine. The best tip has got to be: find an "ointment" moisturizer that's oil-based, rather than water-based. The oil will create a protective layer on the skin that retains more moisture than a cream or lotion. And guess what happens when you wear a water based moisturizer and it's freezing outside? Yes, your skin will freeze too!
The same goes for our lip products. Avoid anything that contains water and go for a oily, greasy vaseline or a caring balm (like Dr Paw Paw) instead. Guaranteed that this will help your skin stay hydrated and avoid freezing.
An extra treatment for the skin like applying a hydrating mask every week, is definitely not an unnecessary luxury at the moment. What are your tips to take extra care of your skin during the winter? Let us know in the comments!
